Bridget Atchley earned her Master of Education in Counselor Education (M.Ed.) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1991. She has been a Counselor in inpatient and outpatient settings, working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, couples, and family therapy. Bridget is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) (#756) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) (#26265).
Bridget has over 33 years' experience working with clients dealing with numerous relationship concerns including partner or spouse, parent-child, and family of origin, as well as grief and loss, self-esteem, chronic illness, codependency, women's issues, and workplace concerns. Bridget has vast experience working with clients coping with depressive and other mood disorders, anxiety, substance use disorders, ADD/ADHD, OCD, and PTSD. Bridget provides psychotherapy or counseling only; she is unable to prescribe medications. Currently, Bridget only works with adults who are in North Carolina, providing individual virtual counseling sessions. Her office hours vary Tuesday - Thursday.

Bridget utilizes many counseling theories including Strategic, Reality, and Cognitive Behavior Therapies. Bridget enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to establish counseling goals and methods to reach those goals. Bridget understands that respect and confidentiality are essential to developing mutual trust with her clients. With your written permission, Bridget will be glad to collaborate with your medical and/or psychiatric providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Bridget accepts VISA and MasterCard, and Health Savings/Health Reimbursement Account (HSA/HRA) VISA/MasterCard; additionally, she accepts most Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance. Bridget does not accept Medicare or Medicaid insurance. If Bridget is not an in-network provider for your insurance and if your insurance offers out-of-network benefits, after you pay for your session, Bridget will then be glad to file an insurance claim for you. Insurance can be very confusing; please feel free to call for more specific information. A Good Faith Estimate regarding cost of treatment will be provided for clients paying out-of-pocket and for clients utilizing their out-of-network benefits. A Notice of Privacy Practices will be provided to all clients. Fees are subject to change and Ms. Atchley will notify her active clients of changes in her fees. Please contact Ms. Atchley directly regarding setting an appointment or to learn about her current fees.
